I am a maker of utilitarian pots, my inspiration and design decisions are based on the needs of pots that function in kitchens, on tables, and for presentation. Structural integrity, and clarity of form is the through line for each body of work.

I am, primarily self-taught, met Mikhail Zakin in 1991 who quickly became my much loved teacher. I completed two years intensive study with Mikhail Zakin in 1993 and a six-week residency with Karen Karnes in 2001 where I was gifted the flameware clay body recipe. The mentorship of Mikhail Zakin and Karen Karnes has had a profound impact on my life and career.

My work is exhibited nationally in group and solo shows. My pots reside in kitchens, on tables, and in cupboards across the nation and beyond. My work has been featured in many publications over the years. I am a member of NCECA, The Artist Trust, the Studio Potter, The American Ceramic Society, Potter's Council, and Washington Potter’s Association.
